2nd Annual Empty Bowls

  • 115 Blannahassett Island Rd Marshall, NC 28753 USA (map)

What is

Empty Bowls?

In 1990, Empty Bowls began with an art teacher organizing students to make ceramic bowls that would be the vessel for serving soup and bread at an event, with profits going towards a local charity. The grassroots movement by artists and crafts people has spread to cities and towns around the world to raise money for food related charities to care for and feed the hungry in their communities.

Pottery + Food + Music + Silent Auction

How it works:

You choose from a selection of pottery bowls at the event, we fill it with soup. There will be refreshments, bread, desserts, and bluegrass music. Enjoy a meal with others in the community and talk with Beacon’s volunteers, board members, and staff. This year we are also having a SILENT AUCTION!

Silent Auction

Other pottery and items from local businesses (listed below). If you want to bid on an item, but can’t attend the event, reach out to Lindsey (development@bohmarshall.org). The Silent Auction will end at 6:30 PM.

Tickets

Order online, in person at Beacon’s Thrift Store, or day-of at the door. All proceeds support Beacon’s Food Pantry. Whichever option you choose, showing up is showing support for Beacon! We look forward to gathering with everyone and sharing a meal. Presale pricing ends Friday, March 15th at noon.
